Welcome to Quiz Your Grade (quizyourgrade.com)! We are committed to protecting the privacy of children who use our educational math games. This Privacy Policy explains what information we do (and don't) collect, how we use it, and your rights as a parent or guardian.

Quiz Your Grade is designed to be a safe, ad-free learning environment for children in grades 3-5. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Quiz Your Grade uses your web browser's localStorage feature to save game progress directly on your device. This data never leaves your computer and includes:

• Game Progress: Selected grade level, game scores, and accuracy statistics
• Missed Problems: Which math problems were answered incorrectly (to provide targeted practice)
• Preferences: Game settings like difficulty level and number of questions

Important: This data is stored only on your device. We cannot access it, and it is not transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can clear this data at any time using your browser's settings or the "Reset Progress" buttons within the games.

4. Third-Party Services

Ko-fi Donation Widget

Some pages on Quiz Your Grade include an optional Ko-fi widget that allows users to support the site through donations. Ko-fi is a third-party payment platform with its own privacy policy. If you choose to use Ko-fi, you will be subject to Ko-fi's Privacy Policy.

Note: The Ko-fi widget is entirely optional. You can use Quiz Your Grade's games and features without ever interacting with Ko-fi.

Google Analytics (Optional, Consent Required)

NEW as of October 28, 2025: Quiz Your Grade may use Google Analytics to understand how children use our games so we can improve them. We only load Google Analytics after you explicitly consent by clicking "That's OK!" on the cookie consent banner.

What Google Analytics Collects (Only if You Consent):

• Anonymized usage statistics (which games are played, how long sessions last)
• Browser type and device information (desktop vs. mobile, screen size)
• General geographic location (country/region level only, never specific addresses)
• Anonymized IP addresses (last digits removed for privacy)

What Google Analytics Does NOT Collect:

• Names, email addresses, or any personal identifying information
• Exact location or full IP addresses
• Individual user tracking or profiles
• Any information that could identify your child

Static Hosting (Netlify)

Quiz Your Grade is hosted on Netlify, a static site hosting service. Netlify may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, browser types, timestamps) for security and performance purposes. We do not have access to these logs. For more information, see Netlify's Privacy Policy.

5. COPPA Compliance

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires websites to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13. Quiz Your Grade complies with COPPA by:

• Not collecting personal information: We don't ask for names, emails, or any identifying information
• No account creation: Children can use all features without creating accounts or logging in
• Opt-In Analytics Only: Google Analytics is completely disabled by default and only loads after explicit consent
• Anonymized Data: When analytics are enabled, all data is anonymized (IP addresses, no user IDs)
• No advertising: We don't display ads or sell data to advertisers
• No third-party data sharing: Game progress stays on your device only
• Transparent disclosure: We clearly explain what data is collected and why

Important for Parents: You have complete control over whether analytics are enabled. If you click "No Thanks" on the cookie consent banner, Google Analytics will never load and no usage data will be sent to Google.

Quiz Your Grade uses cookies and tracking technologies only with your explicit consent:

Essential Storage (Always Active)

• localStorage: Stores game progress locally on your device (no server communication)
• Consent Preference: Stores your analytics consent choice (yes/no)

Optional Analytics Cookies (Only with Consent)

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set the following cookies:

• _ga: Distinguishes unique visitors (anonymized)
• _ga_*: Stores session state
• _gid: Distinguishes unique visitors (24-hour expiry)

Important: These cookies are only set if you click "That's OK!" on the consent banner. If you decline or don't interact with the banner, no analytics cookies will be set.

What We Do NOT Use

• Facebook Pixel or other social media tracking
• Advertising networks or retargeting cookies
• Third-party tracking scripts (besides opt-in Google Analytics)

How to Manage or Delete Cookies

• Delete: Use the "Reset Progress" buttons in games or clear your browser's localStorage to remove all data
• Refuse: You can disable localStorage in your browser settings (though this will prevent progress tracking)

Since Quiz Your Grade doesn't collect or transmit personal information, there is minimal security risk. Game progress data stays on your device and is protected by your device's security measures.

Our website is served over HTTPS to ensure secure connections, and we use Netlify's infrastructure for reliable, secure hosting.

Quiz Your Grade may contain links to external websites (such as Ko-fi for donations). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We encourage parents to review the privacy policies of any websites their children visit.
